bulletAvant l'étude du texte

Describe the police investigation:

Imagine the detectives' questioning and Mary's answers: Forme Interrogative, Discours Direct-Indirect.

List all the possible clues for the detectives to find the crime weapon and discover the culprit.

Mary's fingerprints are all over the place, there is no real motive, Patrick had his coat on when he was killed, as if he had just got home, or was about to leave...

Scene 7: to "It's a big one alright!"

When are there "close shots" on Mary's face? What are the detectives' words /What do we learn precisely then?

ou

Re-write the following lines in the chronological order (attention les répliques sont ici dans l'ordre du film)

Shots when Mary lies, when she watches/listens to the detectives working, or when the detectives are getting closer to the truth…

Examples:

"I haven't touched anything"

"Something heavy, not sharp, a large club of some sort" = the crime weapon…

" Nothing special when he came home" x2

"Always have plenty of meat in the freezer"

"It was a quarrel, someone lost their temper"

"The weapon is something that was already in this house"

"Something fishy about this case"

"I don't believe there was a fight in this house: someone purposely fixed it up afterwards to make it look as if there'd been one…"

"The culprit is probably someone he knew pretty well"

"It could have been a woman, he used to fool around now and again"

Your conclusion?

The detectives are very close to finding the crime weapon and arresting Mary for the murder of her husband!

Scene 8: to the ending

Is Mary a good actress? Justify.

Can you explain the title of the film?
